Payment Policy

Last Updated: 1 May 2026

This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Refund and Return Policy, Shipping Policy, and Privacy Policy.

1. At a Glance

  • Accepted methods: Major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Klarna where supported.
  • Currency: All transactions in British Pounds (GBP), inclusive of UK VAT where applicable.
  • Total price transparency: The total shown at checkout is the total you pay — no hidden fees.
  • Security: PCI-DSS compliant payment processors and HTTPS/TLS encryption across the Site.
  • Refund method: Refunded to the original payment method used at checkout.
  • Refund processing: Within 10 business days of us receiving and inspecting the returned item.
  • Statutory rights: Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 always apply.

2. Accepted Payment Methods

We accept the following payment methods at checkout:

  • Credit and debit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Maestro, Diners Club, and UnionPay.
  • Digital wallets: Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • Buy Now, Pay Later: Klarna, where supported. Where you choose Klarna, your credit agreement is directly with Klarna and is subject to Klarna's own terms. Klarna may carry out a credit check, and missed payments may affect your ability to use Klarna in the future.

We do not accept cash, cheques, bank transfers, or cryptocurrency.

3. Payment Processors

Payments are processed through secure, PCI-DSS compliant third-party providers integrated with the Shopify e-commerce platform. Depending on the payment method you choose, your transaction may be processed by Shopify Payments, PayPal, Klarna, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. By completing a purchase, you accept the applicable processor's terms in addition to ours.

We do not see or store your full card number, expiry date, or security code. We only receive a transaction reference, the last four digits of your card, the cardholder name, and the authorisation result.

4. Currency and Exchange Rates

All transactions are processed in British Pounds (GBP). If your card or bank account is denominated in a different currency, your bank or card provider may apply its own conversion rate and foreign-transaction fees at their discretion. Those charges are outside our control and are not added by Pejayz.

5. Pricing, Taxes, and Delivery Charges

  • Prices displayed on the Site are in GBP and include UK VAT where applicable.
  • Delivery is free on all UK orders.
  • There are no hidden processing, convenience, or handling fees.
  • The total shown on the final checkout page is the exact amount charged to your payment method.

6. Payment Authorisation and Strong Customer Authentication

When you place an order, our payment processor authorises the transaction to confirm that your payment method is valid and that funds are available. In line with the UK's Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) rules under PSD2, your bank may ask you to verify the payment using 3D Secure, a one-time passcode, biometrics, or another authentication step. These checks are carried out by your card issuer, not by us.

Your payment method will be charged once the transaction is authorised and the order is confirmed in our system. A binding contract is formed only when we send you an order confirmation or dispatch email, as explained in our Terms of Service.

7. Order Confirmation

Once your payment is authorised, we will send an automated order receipt to the email address you provided at checkout, showing your order number and a summary of your purchase. This receipt is an acknowledgement, not acceptance of the order. Acceptance occurs when we send you an order confirmation or dispatch email.

8. Declined or Failed Payments

If a payment is declined, please check that:

  • Your billing details (including postcode) match those registered with your bank.
  • Your card has not expired.
  • You have completed any authentication step requested by your bank (for example 3D Secure).

We do not receive detailed decline reasons. For more information, please contact your card issuer or payment provider.

9. Billing Information

You must provide accurate and complete billing information that matches the details registered with your payment method. Differences between your billing and shipping address may result in additional verification by your bank or our payment processor.

10. Fraud Prevention

To keep our store and our customers safe, all orders are subject to automated risk screening by our payment processors. Orders flagged as potentially unauthorised may be held for additional verification, cancelled, or refunded to the original payment method. We may contact you to confirm details before dispatching high-risk orders.

11. Security of Payment Data

  • The Site uses HTTPS with TLS encryption to protect data in transit.
  • Payments are handled exclusively by PCI-DSS compliant third-party processors.
  • Card details are tokenised and are never stored on our servers.
  • Shopify Payments is certified to PCI-DSS Level 1, the highest level of payment security compliance.
  • Personal data provided during checkout is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Refunds: Method and Timing

  • Refund method. Refunds for approved returns or cancelled orders are issued to the original payment method used at checkout. For security and anti-fraud reasons, we cannot refund to a different card, wallet, or account.
  • Refund timing. Approved refunds are processed by Pejayz within 10 business days of us receiving and inspecting the returned item. Once processed, your bank or card provider may take an additional 3–5 business days to show the refund in your account.
  • Klarna refunds. Refunds for Klarna orders are handled by Klarna in accordance with their own refund process.

Full details of how to return goods and when refunds apply are set out in our Refund and Return Policy.

13. Disputes, Chargebacks, and Unpaid Amounts

If you have an issue with your order, please contact us first at info@pejayz.com so we can try to resolve it.

We take chargebacks raised without first contacting us, and chargebacks found to be unauthorised or invalid, seriously. We reserve the right to:

  • Recover amounts owed where a chargeback was raised in bad faith.
  • Decline future orders from the associated customer or payment method.
  • Share fraud information with our payment processors for fraud prevention purposes, in line with our Privacy Policy.

None of the above limits your statutory rights as a consumer or your right to raise a legitimate chargeback with your card issuer.

14. Reversed or Failed Payments After Dispatch

If a payment is reversed by your card provider, bank, or Klarna after your order has been dispatched — for example due to a failed instalment or a chargeback later found to be invalid — we may require you to either settle the outstanding amount or return the goods in their original condition at your cost.

15. Pricing Errors

We make reasonable efforts to ensure pricing on the Site is accurate. In the rare event of an obvious pricing error — for example an item listed at a fraction of its true market price due to a technical fault — we reserve the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund to the original payment method. Where we cancel an order in these circumstances, no contract will have been formed, in line with our Terms of Service.

16. Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in this Payment Policy limits or excludes your rights as a consumer under UK law, including:

  • The Consumer Rights Act 2015 — covering goods that must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described.
  • The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 — including your 14-day right to cancel.

Those rights always apply.

17. Customer Responsibilities

When placing an order, you are responsible for:

  • Authorised use — ensuring you are authorised to use the payment method provided.
  • Available funds — ensuring sufficient funds are available to complete the transaction.
  • Accurate details — providing accurate billing and contact details.
  • Account security — keeping your payment credentials and account login secure.

18. Our Commitments

We are committed to:

  • Secure checkout — maintaining a PCI-DSS compliant checkout environment.
  • Timely processing — processing authorised payments and eligible refunds within the timeframes set out in this policy.
  • Pricing transparency — being transparent about pricing, taxes, and delivery charges.
  • Data protection — handling personal and payment data in accordance with UK GDPR.

19. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Payment Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our payment providers, security practices, or the law. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision. The version in force at the time you place an order will apply to that order.
